Hi, I’m Lisa
I'm thrilled to have you here in my little corner of the internet.
My journey has taken me on various paths, from the world of journalism to a career in public relations. But the past decade My husband Matty and I embarked on an adventure to feed people delicious food and coffee in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We opened our own café, right at the beginning of the breathtaking Great Ocean Road, in 2013. The hospitality life, while incredibly rewarding, came with its own set of challenges, both physically and mentally.
With that chapter now closed, I find myself profoundly grateful for the opportunity to chase a new dream. My current mission? To build a business centered around self-care, nurturing, and the pure joy of painting faces with makeup. And, I get to do it all from the comfort of my own home!
A Journey to Self-Confidence
Being a woman in a plus-size body and navigating life with dyslexia, I often felt like I didn't deserve to wear makeup or lipstick. I had this unfounded fear that people would perceive me as snobbish or arrogant. It took an initiative like Liptember, a women's mental health campaign, to unlock a secret desire within me – to wear bright red lipstick every single day.
To my surprise, not only did I feel more put-together and happier with a touch of makeup, but it also brought joy to others. Compliments flowed, and I discovered that my reluctance to wear makeup was holding me back from something I loved. I encouraged others to embrace lipstick too, empowering them to be unapologetically themselves.
The Quest for Lipstick That Lasts
My days in the hospitality industry meant long hours, constant sips of coffee, and sampling delicious food. Unfortunately, standard lipsticks would barely survive the rigors of my day. That's when Chantelle Patu, a SeneGence distributor, appeared on my social media radar. Her lipstick and makeup remained intact, from dawn to dusk, and I was captivated!
Family and Future 💕
Matty and I have dreamt of starting a family for years. We have four fur kids – Gus, Penny, Henry, and Teddy. I am living with auto-immune conditions including type 1 diabetes, fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthropathy. The pain and fatigue associated with these conditions has certainly made life very challenging and I am unable to cope with the rigors of conventional employment. As we prepare for the next phase of our lives, I'm taking control of my health and my career. I want the flexibility to work from home and be a part of something positive and inclusive.
It was always a dream of mine to work on my terms, with a coffee or a bowl of soup in front of me, taking in the world while doing my thing.
and Guess what? I'm doing it! Selling makeup and skincare is my newfound passion, and I'm absolutely loving every moment of it. I'm even studying to become a makeup artist because I want to inspire women, just like me, to feel confident in their own skin, regardless of their shape, age, or where they are in life.
I've found a community of people who understand my journey, and I'm so grateful that even in my moments of uncertainty, I'm not alone.
Let's inspire, uplift, and empower each other as we embrace our unique beauty and journey through life.
